Canadian Citizen refusal application on a visitor visa

I wanted to apply for a 6 month visa to travel and meet friends in the UK. I thought that you would have to do that, but than I realize that I didn't have to since being a Canadian Citizen that I can stay upto 6 months. I still did the application and got a refusal stating by me that I had to write a letter stating that I will be staying for 6 months and leaving. I know that I will have trouble entering in the UK if i just went there. So is there anyway that I can withdraw my application cancelling everything and still go there even for under 6 months? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.....

You asked this on another forum and got an answer. As you have already applied for a visa, when you didn't actually need to, and got rejected then there's a big chance that you'll be sent packing should you rock up to the UK without a visa in advance now. If i remember correctly, and also which you've failed to add here, you effectively work online and as such you can work anywhere in the world which goes against you big time.
