ILR application Please Help!!!

Post by ba_u » Sun Dec 06, 2009 9:59 pm

I am preparing to apply for ILR next month under 5 - year work permit. But there are few things I am worried about.

First - I started to work for my company about 2 and half months before the work permit was issued. Will this affect my application? Do I need to disclose the start date of the employment in my ILR application?

Second - I am a civil engineer and there was a condition in the work permit aproval letter that I should get full membership with ICE (Institute of civil engineers) during my work permit period which is quite difficult to get and I have not got. Will this affect my application?..

Can anybody help??

first - u dont need to declare the start date of the employment. but the start date for the duration of the qualifying period...

second-i am hearing of this sort of condition for the first time. I am a mechanical engr. its comparitively easier getting chartered membership with imeche. if you have at least get the associate membership , you can present your case that you are wirking towards fullmembership

dont you think you have been too laid back and only worrying about this thing when you dont have much time left. come on, you have been here 5 years, dont you think you should have thought about this a bit early.
I find it strange when people are in uk for many years and do nothing to address any problems they might have and right in the end seek quick fix solutions. NOT GOOD AT ALL.
