FLR form queries

Post by Chris » Mon Dec 12, 2005 4:57 pm

I am on work permit applying for FLR for new employer.
I am the only applicant with 2 dependant. I will be submitting 3 passport in all including myself, my wife and my daughter.

Can anyone tell me the following field in FLR(IED) form to be filled.

Section 1 : Contact details of Payer
4. Your Reference : ???

Section 2 : Details of the applicant(s)
01. Surname Number of passports : ?? (1 or 3)

Section 5 : Personal Details of Applicant
29. Your WP reference Number: I have this
30. Your HO reference Number: ??

Thanks for your assistance
Chris

With the caveat that I'm not an expert, but usually quite good at filling in forms!! This one, although comparatively new, could do with some work, IMO.....

Section 1 : Contact details of Payer
4. Your Reference : ???
I think this is for those cases when an agent is submitting the application or your behalf, and it is for his file reference. No need for you to put anything with an individual application

Section 2 : Details of the applicant(s)
01. Surname Number of passports : ?? (1 or 3)
My vote is that you put "3" here - that is how many passports will be accompanying the form

Section 5 : Personal Details of Applicant
29. Your WP reference Number: I have this
30. Your HO reference Number: ??
The HO reference is generally in the format "X1234567" where "X" is the first letter of your surname. If you don't have it on any correspondence you might have received from HO, leave blank

Thanks Paul,

I posted this in the forum because I was confindent I will get number of different answer or probably incorrect answers from Home Office or Workpermit dept as my previous experience.

For the "number of pasport column", I called up Home Office and they said it should be 1 because I am the main applicant and dependants details have a seperate section, but they told me to confirm from workpermit dept.

I called up the workpermit dept and they said it should be 1 "they think" and gave the same reasons .

Once I went to Home Office personally and submitted my form at the counter I was told that this should be 3 as you are submitting 3 passport including 2 of your dependant.

I know its strange but this is how the employee of home Office and work permit depts are trained......

Jeez, Chris - really instills confidence in the system, doesn't it?

FWIW, my reasoning for putting three was that then, when they were getting ready to write back with the verdict, they'd ensure that they sent back as many passports as had been sent to them.... (To misquote the Falklands war correspondent "I counted them all in, and counted them all out again"....)

I think the answer is that there ought to be TWO forms - one for individuals such as yourself, and one for agents/employers, submitting multiple applications. But who cares what I think? :D
