Average waiting time appears to be around 4 weeks at present, but you'll have to allow for the Christmas/New Year holiday period.

I have submitted my application through NCS on 7th October and still waiting for it. Last week, I have called HO about my application status but they said that they couldn't tell status because your application submitted in last SIX Months. Is processing time Six months?
Casa can we check application status online?
Thanks

This is their standard reply. My husband was told this and received his approval in the post a few days later.
4 weeks seems to be the average at present.

Bukhari bro. Could you plz also join "TIMELINE AFTER SUBMISSION"

We are all in the same state as you are.

Yea If you were born in a South asian country like me then timeline is indefinite... It all depends on the HO.

it is with great sadness that i dismiss your claim that south asians are treated any different to other applicants.Lets be fair even though i agree with the previous home secretary (John Reid)that the home office is not fit for purpose then there has been some progressive improvement. It is in no ones best interest that you make an unsubstantiated yet an inflammatory claim/s that only generates unwarranted resentment. At worse, rather than encouraging people here you are pushing them to tenterhooks.Thats not fair but thats not to say i dont feel your pain.

Applicants- Husband & wife (Indians)
Application- Postal
Criteria- HSMP (4yrs) + ILR (1yr) (ILR was backdated based on the judicial review)
Date of submission- 30th Nov.09
Date of receipt at Home Office-1/12/09
Cheque debited from account- 11/12/09
Acknowledgement letter dated 07/12/09
Documents back by post on 16/12/09
Letter inviting for ceremony (dt 12/12/09) received on 18/12/09
Citizenship ceremony on 13/1/10
Applied for British Passport 15/1/10

After many people in the forum letting people know that the application turn around is quick, many people are still preferring to go to NCS. I am made aware that after applying for citizenship, we are not allowed to leave the country for a week. The turn around time is less than 3 weeks (provided the criteria for qualification is straight forward). Of all the visa applications I have done, citizenship one is the easiest and most straight forward. Buy a Christmas gift with the money saved.

relax and be patient. people are so impatient one they file applications, then they ask questions on here repeatedly. And they always get standard reply from other members. If HO cant advice you anything then how would someone on this forum? If it says the wait is 6 months, then wait 6 months before asking questions. god, there are hundreds of posts on this forum which just ask the same question again ang again.
