Tier I extention CB and CTC PLEASE HELP

REQUEST HELP!!!

I am on HSMP Visa and my VISA is due to expire on 27th Dec 09. I applied for Tier I Extention on 15th Nov 09 but used the 08/09 version for application but was considered as invalid application due to old forms being used.

I have reapllied on 6th Dec 09 with my wife and son as dependents. Son was born in the Uk has a Indian passport. Wife is on HSMP Dependent visa. I have claimed Child Tax Credit and child Benefit. I have enclosed the letters from the respective departments along with my Tier 1 extention form.

I just wanted to confim from the Home Office if claiming Child Benefit and Child Tax Credit would be a problem in processing my visa. I was informed that I should not be claiming the same. I have since called the CB department and CTC department and asked them to cancel it with immediate affect and also told them that I am ready to pay by debit card but they have forwarded the information to their back office and I have no letters from them as yet. I spoke to them about 2 weeks back. Child Benefit Dept have confirmed they have cancelled further payments but both depts are not ready to take the money back without further investigation.

I have also sent a fax to the Home Office confirming about discussions I had with both Depts and Date , time , person spoken to etc. requesting them to process the application and i will keep them posted about all developements.

I need advice on the following
a.what is the best way to pay these departments and get a letter from them ( I have tried to call them and repay and have requested for letters but no use absolutely)
b.Will my VISA get processed ?
c.What other documents I need to keep ready once my application is returned?
d.what is the way out of this situation?
