postal application still in po box?

Post by imur69er » Mon Dec 21, 2009 10:26 pm

Sent the application using special delivery, got there a day before. But when tracing the application using the tracking facility at royal mail website its says this:

Your item with reference ZIxxxxxxGB has reached its PO Box and is awaiting collection/delivery.

I am aware that HO comes once in a week to collect all the applications in a week.

But will it be considered as the date the application went in their po box or will it be considered as the date the collect the application from their po box?

Please answer me at your earliest.

Thanks
sz

It would make sense if it counted when they actually collect it from the PO box. Otherwise how can they know who sent them an application?
I tell it like it is.

Mate, as its xmas time expect some delays and they may count it from the day they actually see your application.

Hi imur69er,

I think the date of application is the date of postage which is the postmark or date stamp on the envelope. So you will be OK and keep a record of the online track and trace just in case.

(iii) where the application form is sent by courier, the date on which it is delivered to the United Kingdom Border Agency of the Home Office, or

(iv) where the application form is submitted online, the date on which it is so submitted.

Did application fee deducted from your bank account/card? If yes, than you can be sure that your application is in process.

I haven't done it myself. I googled and found this link from another forum. Extract from the link is below:
How To Track Postal Order wrote:To trace if a Postal Order has been cashed you would need to complete a P58
form available from any Post Office® branch. When you’ve completed the form
hand this in at the Post Office® and this will be forwarded to Royal Mail
to investigate.

Alternatively you can send the P58 form and the receipt for the postal
orders to:
Postal Order Group
PO Box 168
Chesterfield
S49 1ZL

It is recommended that you keep a copy of the receipt for your own records.

help needed ...

i just got a letter from HO VIA my lawyer that they have forwarded my matter to a case worker (the letter has got their reference number)

but when i track my application via royal mail website it says the same ...

my item is delievered to its po box but still awaiting collection ...

plz help me understanding this ... how can i make sure if the letter is a legit but not a fake from the lawyer? does it have to have a stamped on the letter or any thing like that?

ps note: the lawyer would do this only to get brief grip of me still paying him the money?

i just want to make sure if the letter is original and if it is then why is the royal mail website tracking shows the same since 2 weeks?

Lawyers generally do not do that. If you have got reference no. than you can call HO and speak to them to make sure fees has been deducted from your bank account. if fees is deducted than your application is under process. The reason your royal mail status still showing PO box is because HO have a dedicated PO box in which all applications are delivered. It is not like somebody sign for every application received by HO.

i just called ROYAL MAIL regarding my application delievery, they told me it has not yet reached DURHAM (the UKBA) due to heavy snow since 20th Dec 2009. It is still within the royal mails warehouse/delievery section near DURHAM.

UKBA has the following rule:

Determination of the date of an application or claim (or variation of an application or claim) in connection with immigration

34G.For the purposes of these rules, the date on which an application or claim (or a variation in accordance with paragraph 34E) is made is as follows:

(i) where the application form is sent by post, the date of posting,

(ii) where the application form is submitted in person, the date on which it is accepted by a public enquiry office of the United Kingdom Border Agency of the Home Office,

(iii) where the application form is sent by courier, the date on which it is delivered to the United Kingdom Border Agency of the Home Office, or

(iv) where the application form is submitted online, the date on which it is so submitted.

Please let me know if my application would still be considered valid or not to the HO, as my current visa would be expired on 27th dec 2009.

Thanks for all your help.[/u]
