Please bare with me as i try to explain the situation
History:
I am an indian national living in uk since October 2002 [2002-2006 on a student visa; since 2006 on a work permit]. My wife is a norwegian national. We met each other in october 2005; have been in relationship ever since and got married last month. My wife's pregnant now and we are expecting a li'll one in July next year

Present Situation:
As i mentioned earlier working on a sponsored work permit but the company has been recently acquired and some jobs may be made redundant. Now I like to strengthen my chances of retaining the job by moving on to an EEA family permit - so that my new employers can't kick me out saying that they couldnt get a new work permit for me.
What I've found from my research so far is that I need to apply for an EEA Family Permit and then i won't require any more work permits to be able to work in UK. Is this right?
How is this likely to affect my chances of getting an ILR considering I have been living in UK for 7 years, out of which 3 years on a work permit.
What is this concept of durable relationship and marriage. I should point out that my wife moved to UK as a student in 2004 and graduated in 2008. She's been working full time since January 2009.
What are my options? Please advise what you can, it'll be greatly appreciated.
Regards
G man
