B2 visa

Post by neilroy » Thu Dec 08, 2005 4:53 pm

Hello,
I am Indian national with ILR status in UK. I am living in UK from 1996 as student/workpermit/ILR visas. I have got trip abroad to US in january for businees conference. I have booked an appoinment for this in London Embassy on the 20th. Can you suggest what documents i need to take with me apart from the employer letter to prove that i have tie with UK as home. I am planning the following docs to take with me:
1. Bank Statements last 3-month
2. Pay Slip - 3 month
3. Mortage Statement- 3month
4. Proof of purchase of my house from my solicitor
Anything else can you suggest.
Regards

Clearly your passport will also help considerably. The fact that you have your ILR in your Indian passport is a good indicator, and the immigration stamps in the passport will also assist.

Thank you John. I will also take other documents as mentioned in previous post just to be on safe side.

Neilroy, I was not suggesting otherwise. Clearly the items you list should also be taken along as further evidence. However the ILR and immigration stamps in your passport really should confirm that you are indeed living in the UK.

The items you list ... to which you could add Driving Licence ... if you have one ... will provide proof of where you live in the UK.
