yes you're correct. The eu route is free but takes a lot longer allthough turn around times have been much quicker lately.zebra3 wrote:I have a question below from my brother. thanks for your help
I have dual nationalities (British+Eu French), and my spouse is on a 2 year visa which will expire on May 2010.
My partner delayed the entry to UK by 5 months, Visa issued May 08 and she came to the UK Oct 08, so to apply for ILR I need to get and extension visa for £465.00 then ILR for £820.00, but if got via the EU route to get a 5year visa if FREE???
Can anyone help and advice????
Thanks
