British citizen.
Went to USA 3 years ago on J1 visa. Completed my studies successfully and ended up marrying a US citiszen. Happy days!
We both live in London now and enjoying it very much. Our plan is to go back to America in a couple of years and live permanently.
Here is my question.
A friend of mine is going through his J1 visa process and I'm helping him fill it out etc. Well, we got to form DS 156 and it asks 'Have you EVER been arrested or convicted of ANY crime or offence.........' This obviously means ANYTHING. Well 10 years ago i got fined and convicted for careless driving(nothing serious, just bumped someones car) and Im now thinking i never put that on my application at the time. I'm almost positive that I never. I'm very honest and wouldn't have thought twice of not declaring anything that needed declaring, especially for something that wouldn't have made me ineligible anyway.
I'm now worried that I've screwed up and may face consequences. I'm so annoyed with myself.
Can anyone give any advice?
I never ran into any trouble in America and have been back since on the VWP.
Thanks in advance.
