You mentioned that you have received reference no. from UKBA. You cannot get reference no. unless UKBA receive your application. Did you check whether or not money has gone from your bank account? If yes, then you don't need to worry as it means application is recieved and under process by HO.

i had sent them POSTAL ORDERS.
my lawyer post me the home office letter (with the ho reference number) saying they have recieved my application, they will contact me if they find my application is not valid or my payment has not gone thru.

do ho sents such letters stationg abt payment about to be taken?

i am worried as i m not sure if my lawyer is honest to me.

i have called royal mail, abt my application delievered or not they say the same thing that areas near durham has got loads of snow and its hard to get delievered, but when i do the track tracing on royal mails it says the following:

ur item has reached its po box and awaiting collection/delievery.

i called ho regarding this royal mail tracing message, they said its with royal mail as our database has not been updated it.

now i dont know what is going on ... can some one realy sort this out for me thanks

Application should be covered under paragraph 34G(i) and sections 3C & 3D.
