Naturalisation on the basis of marriage

Post by khanmohsen » Mon Jan 11, 2010 3:58 pm

I have an ILR for the last 5 years and i have applied for my naturalisation, my wife came to UK on spouce visa and she is in UK for almost three and a half years, i just like to know if she can also apply for naturalisation while my application is still under consideration? obviously i am still not british national yet so i am a bit confused if she can also apply at the same time, not to forget that she has her ILR for the last 1 and a half year and she also satisfies all the other basic requirments.
Thanks.

no your wife will have for your case to be completed. Once you complete the citizenship ceremony then your wife can apply as 'Spouse of a British citizen'. otherwise she may need to be in the UK for 5years
