I have known my Moroccan husband for 3 years we met on the net and I finally went to visit him and his family in Feb 2009 since then I visited 6 times in total. We got married in December 2009(that was a marathon in itself dealing with the Moroccan authorities) but Thank God we was able to on the 28th. We tried to get a visitors visa in Oct 2009 so he could meet my family before we were to be married but was refused because he hadn't supplied enough info regarding his funds. I had shown provided my income and also had sponsoring letter from family saying how they wanted him to visit and would be sponsored by us.
Anyway we married as planned and now I want to know how we qualify for a marriage visa. I am at present a uni student where I recieve a grant and a loan and also i recieve public funds as I have a daughter from my previous marriage. i get tax credits and child benefit and also housing benefit.
I know it says to qualify we need to be able to support ourselves, does that mean I cannot be in reciept of any benefit(What I am receiving now)to qualify for the visa?
My family have their own business and have said to us if my husband can come here he can work for them.
I do not know what the best route is whether I should give up uni and start working but then I will still be in receipt of public funds because of working tax credit. I am really confused as to what I can do and am so worried that my husband will not be able to join us here so we can live as a family.
Thankyou in advance for any information that could help me make the right decisions for us
