Very worried about my PSW Visa application..

Post by potterbond007 » Fri May 29, 2009 3:51 am

I applied for my PSW Visa on the 29th of April and the documents are under consideration.. My main concern is regarding the maintainance funds that needs to be shown in the account..
I have submitted bank statement from the 16th of December till the 16th of April.. My father transferred 800 pounds into my account on the 24th of December which can be seen on the statement.. I maintained my account balance above 800 pounds all through january, february and March.. But it went down to 792 pounds for some hours ( 11:50 pm - 9 am ) on the 6th of April. This was because I needed some medicine and the money my father transferred did not come into my account on time. I have been maintaining my balance above 800 from the afternoon of 6th April till now which is the end of May.. My visa application results haven't come in yet but I am getting more and more worried by the day..
I have two question...
1) Is it ok that I have maintained funds from the 24th of December till the 6th of April for the Visa application to be successful? This is because one of my friends told me that the bank balance is considered for directly 3 months before the date of application..
2) In case my Visa is rejected ( taking it to be true that the funds are checked directly 3 months before the date of application ), I could go for appeal ( coz my visa has expired ) .. Would they revert their refusal if I state that I was sick and needed the money for a medicine and state that it was a misunderstanding of transferred funds?

Thank you in advance for your help..

All you can do is wait now!! does it really shows in your bank statment that u went below £800 for couple of hours??? My statement always shows daily balance, not hourly!!!

The above link is logical but the rule may take some time for implementation. so best of luck.

Refused

Post by potterbond007 » Sun Jan 17, 2010 7:18 am

It got refused... a long time back.. I even lost my appeal.. It seems that 800 pounds bank account thingy is a very strict rule and you cant bypass it in any way.. And the date of consideration of funds is taken as immediately before the date of application.. It is irrelevant if u had funds for 3 months before the day that the bank account fell below the limit..

@Poster

1) Why did you start your date with 16th December? Did you have £800 on that day?

@All

Please avoid abbey national(Satander) bank statements for PSW application for they have many balances in a day Unlike Barclays which normally have the ONE closing balance irrespective of number of transactions in a day.

No.. When you take an e-statement print out, sometimes a couple of days before the date u want the statements from show up.. You cant cut it off and HSBC told me that it is not possible to take from a specific date to a specific date.. Statements come in pages and you just have to print out the whole page.. If it was possible from a specific date to a specific date, then my PSW would never have been refused since i had 3 months of funds available in the bank before the day the balance dropped below 800. I asked them to give me an e-statement to just before the day that the balance dropped and they refused saying that it isn't possible.. Well i dont know if it is the same with every bank.. but that was the procedure that HSBC followed..

Also HSBC is perfect,
But only original statement show daily balance, e-statement show balance after each transaction until the end of your statement date, when they close it and send you the original in the post, it shows only daily balance, so you will not get caught if you dipped down in a day and replaced it, unless the HO has to do Plus and minus of your Credit and Debit to know when it dipped down, but thats stupid thing to do.
