Typical MN1 time to process ?

I am a UK citizen living in Taiwan, my wife is Taiwanese and we have adopted a local child.

The adoption is 100% legal, was told by british cultural office to submit the MN1 form to have my adopted son naturalized as British.

The paperwork was submitted to the british cultural office in August 09, the payment to process was deducted from my payment account on the 3rd Sept 09...

But I have heard nothing since the application.

I don't have any reference number or acknowledgement notification. I only know the paperwork was received as payment has been made.

Can anyone help:
1. What is the typical time to process a MN1?
2. I assume they should repond back to the address from where you applied?
3. Anyone have any idea on how I can check the status ?

Hi there,

the official processing time for MN1 registration form is 6 month however if its made from inside Uk for child born or adopted in UK it does take only 2 weeks to recieve the certificate, it may take longer if it is from out of UK
