Post by Cisadi » Sat Jan 23, 2010 7:11 pm

Is penalty for stopping at the chequered box while driving a criminal offence and should it be mentioned in the ILR SET(O) application ?

No harm in declaring it in the form. It won't affect the decision anyway.

I was just wondering if it is reqired, if not, why create any doubts etc. if you know what I mean :-)

Do you know if it is considered a criminal offence ?

I do not want to hide it but want to only mention it if it is necessory. :-)

What if they found out at later stage that you concealed information? You will be in a bitter situation. Also please note these offenses are taken very seriously at the time of citizenship. So if you hide info and HO knows about it at later stage you could be in serious trouble.
A friend of my was recently fined sometime back by judge. Though he got ILR but he is denied citizeship and is now asked to wait for 5 years (from the date of that offense). You never know what will haunt you in future.

you have a valid point there, but if it is not considered as a criminal offence then they actually do not want to know about it because they haven't asked for it in the form. That's the reason why I am asking if it is a criminal offence at all :-)

BTW, I completely forgot to mention that I appreciate your views on this and as I said previuosly, you certainly are one of the gems in the forum. Thank you :-)
