College sponsor's Licence Suspended

Post by lad 14 » Sun Jan 24, 2010 12:10 pm

I have enrolled myself for master’s course in a college, the college is providing the master’s degree affiliated to recognised University. Yesterday the college has uploaded on his website that their sponsor’s licence has been suspended due to unknown reasons, and they have written that they have informed ASIC (Accreditation Services for International Colleges) to look into the matter
and assist us to be re-instated onto the sponsor register. As I am on PSW Visa I want to know that will the college’s sponsorship suspension effect me in any ways when I will get my degree, as I am passing out in next 3-4 months. Will I be able to apply for Tier 1 with that degree.
Any kind of help will be highly appreciated.

As you are already on your PSW, I have heard some people say ( i am not sure ) that you get to apply for PSW only once.. and it doesn't matter if you become a student again or not (again i dont know for sure ).. Anyways.. if you can apply for your PSW again, then the sponsorship license cancellation of your college is definitely going to affect you.. your PSW application will be refused.. Btw, shouldn't you have applied and stayed on your student visa while doing your Master's course? I believe that would also have a bearing when you apply for your PSW..

For Tier 1 (General) Application, you must not study in the UK, Your Master/PhD can come from any country as far as your awarding body is listed in HO website under point calculator.

What they will count is on your Master/PhD Degree and not how you studied it, I have seen people applying from outside UK with the University of Liverpool Online Degree and they got Visa. also watch your Pay.

UK recognised and Listed Bodies are only for Tier 1 (Post Study Work) and Tier 4 (Students)
So you are OK, if your target is Tier 1 General.
