showing a clear 3 yrs old uk driving licence with the supporting of application is a good thing or not? but it is not mandatory is it?

What will the "3 yr. old" licence prove? Except, maybe, that you live at the address shown! Can't think of any other "benefit".

People who cannot drive are also eligible for ILR, so it is definitely not mandatory. :wink:
