Registration of British Citizens in Ireland

Would a British citizen be required to register and get resgistration certificate in order to live in Ireland?

your answers would be appreciated.

No. At least not for immigration purposes. Assuming you're a British citizen, and not another kind of British national.

Ireland does not require EEA nationals to register their presence in Ireland, therefore the Registration Certificate referred to in Article 8 of Directive 2004/38/EC shall not be issued.
