Refused Entry Clearance

A close female Chinese friend of mine who now lives in Hongkong recently applied for a visitors visa to come and stay with me and my parents for 2 > 4 weeks. I invited her here to repay her for looking after me when I recently visited Hongkong.

Her entry clearance was refused on the ground that she has no property of her own, no close relatives in HK, she currently has only a part time job.

Basically they dont believe she will return from the UK and will require benefits here etc. But I have already offered to sponser her visit which she does not actually need as she has well enough money to support herself here.

Some of my points are that she has a rented apartment furnished with most of her own furniture, tv, etc. She has some family in HK but most of her family live reasonably close by in China who she see's atleast 4 times a year. up until 6 weeks ago she had 2 jobs, one fulltime, one part time but she lost the fulltime job because the company moved bases to China. She has not looked for another fulltime job as she is travelling to see her family next week for 2 weeks and was planning to visit me the week after. Which means she could not have taken a fulltime position.

Does anyone have an suggestions of what will help in this situation?

Phillip, a classic no "reason to return" rejection!

Yes, pay much closer attention to proving that she does indeed have "reason to return" to Hong Kong. Also, your finances? You are going to be paying for her, accommodating her, while she is in the UK? What evidence was submitted to show that you could afford that?

So Phillip it might just come down to paying a lot more attention to the "evidence folder" to be submitted with the application. Improve upon that and the next application might be successful.

A > We are close but not seeing each other but it is a possibility in the future.

I will put some more information together and send some documents to prove my financial situation and try to provide some good explanations as to her situation in HK.
