Your case workers will not go by your job title but rather by what your job actually constitutes for example your day to day responsibilities. Once the case worker looks at your job description, they will try to form an opinion on weather this job can only be undertaken by a graduate.

Could you give us more details on your job? Maybe someone from your field could comment on it

Most bookkeepers I know of here in the US have either picked up the job over the years or took an Associates in it at a community college, which is a 2 year course and would not be considered a graduate level job. Accouting, yes, bookkeeping I would not think would pass the test.

13 years ago I worked as a Financial instructor. Recording transaction day-by-day. Payroll. Months and annual reporting. I did not hold any accounting or bookeeping qualification, but bachelour in construction+ acconting certificate (1 month courses). It has been very easy for me so I did this job. But now I am not sure if HSMP caseworker will recognize that position as grad level job.

Hi there,

I am a qualified accountant and was just granted HSMP claiming points on my accounting work experience. I can confidently state that Book-keeping is NOT a graduate level job! However accounting is a graduate job.
In accounting terminology - Book-keepper is a junior performing any duties up to Trial Balance e.g Sales, Purchases, Nominal Ledgers. Everything above Trial Balance e.g Annual Reporting , analysis, management accounting, forecasting, budgeting constitute a graduate level role.

Consequently, Accounts Assistant is not a graduate role, however Accountant is a graduate role.

Hope it helps!
Good Luck!
