PLEASE HELP!! Visitors visa was rejected for the 2nd time

Post by R&L » Sat Jan 14, 2006 2:42 pm

I live in the US and my boyfriend who I met online back in 2004 lives in the UK. He came to visit me back in 2004 with no problems. I made a trip to London in December 2004 and was refused entry because I didnt bring a lot of money with me and I had no return ticket, so they didnt think I would return home. I was allowed 3 days in the country. We contacted the MP and had my stay extended for 2 weeks. Upon my return an immpgration officer advised me to get a 6 month visitors visa if I wanted to return to the UK. So once I was home I started the visa process. My fisrt application was refused based on the facts that I have no assets in the US and I am unemployed. I am supported and live with my parents. I said that I have $500 to make my journey and once in the UK my boyfriend will take care of all my financial need during my stay. Immigration wanted proof that he was financially stable and would and could take care of all of my financial needs. Now thinking I know what they want and need we got an immigration solicitor who handled everything. This time we sent in my application, my statement of events of the past months, a statement from my boyfriend saying he will meet all financial accomidations, his bank records, a statement from my parents saying that they support me, and a letter from the solicitor. This time I was refused because they said I didnt show that I have $500 for my journey and becuse I didnt show proof that I am supported by my parents and because they checked my boyfriends bank account and one month there was a large ammount of money put into his account all at once (this money was put there in such a large ammount because he is in the process of buying a new business) there was a sufficient amount of money in the account before the large sum was added and since the large amount there has been sufficient additional funds added. Anyway they said I did not give a good explination of there the large amount came from. I was never asked about his bank accounts. They said they thought the money was added to the account falsly to make it look like he has sufficient funds to accomidate my stay.

Ok so my question is what do I do now? I Have no bank account so I can not show proof that I have $500 cash. I dont know what proof to show that I am supported by my parents other than having them write and sign a statement. And lastly the money in my boyfriends account is still there and has been added to and subtracted from like a normal bank account I really just dont know what imigration expects. I do not work and I don't own anyting nor do I go to school. Immigration says because I have nothing to come back to then I will more than likely over stay in the UK. I dont know what to do to convince them that staying longer than 6 months is not my intention. Please give me some advice[/b]

A good idea might be to get a bank account and have your parents pay an allowance into it each month, that way you will have an official way to show that you have some money and that your parents are supporting you.

Also, does your BF have a job? If he can show a letter proving he is in employment as well as his bank statement then surely that would show that he has a monthly income which he could use to support you?

Thanks for getting back to me. I have already planned to get a bank account to show proof of my funds.
My boyfriend owns his own business and has done so for the past 6 years, he is in the process of buying a 2nd business. We shipped his bank statement along with my application. He has at least 35 thousand pounds in the account that we sent to them and immigration said they thought that the money was put there only to make it look as though he has the income to support me. It seems like every time we send them the proper documents they want they twist the information and refuse me. I am at a loss about what to do.

Are you not a US citizen then even though you live in the US? Why do you require a visitor visa to the UK?

I am a US citizen. I tried to go to the Uk back in Dec 04 and was refused at the immigration post because I didnt bring a large amount of money with me (I planed on my boyfriend supporting my while I visited), I didnt purchase a return ticket and they didnt think that I would go back to the US The clearence officer gave me a 3 days in the country I had my stay extended an extra 2 weeks after a few phone calls were made. When I came back to the airport to go home I was told by an entry clearance officer that I should get a Visitors visa next time I wanted to enter the country, that way I wont have to be detained and questioned again if they thought neccessary. They didnt say I had to have a visa just that I may have a better chance if I had one. I dont want to get to the UK just to have to be rejected and have to take that long flight back the same day not to mention if i was rejected that is a waste of money on tickets. I just dont know what to do

Hi

you being a visitor not a fiancee do have to satisfy the immigration officer , if he asks you, about purpose and all your expences to be incurred during your stay , nontheless you are a US citizen.

It appears that in the first instance probably he was not satsfied about boufriend's resources and advised you to get clearance from US itself so as not to cause you any hardship at the port. Now either you have to satisfy with your own means of finance or despite that if you feel sponsor needs to support you then they may ask clarification for boyfriend's sources.

Just try to explain if you are acting like a budget traveller and now your account will show that you are working in US and may not depend upon state or public fund and your sponsors income and support will be a bonus to you to have your successful visit. Sponsor and visitor , if both the financial standing do not convince then this problem may arise. I hope your case is always on the finacial aspect that may be strengthened by producing some banking documents with clarification.
Sudeen deposits in any accounts need to explaon otherwisw may become a doubtful source. Goodluck
