Tier 2 "Working and conditions"

Post by arsenal49 » Fri Feb 12, 2010 9:57 pm

Hi everyone,

I am quoting a pargraph from UKBA website from working and conditions section (right at the bottom of web page).

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/worki ... onditions/

"Finishing a job:
if your job ends before your permission to stay runs out, it is likely that we may limit your permission to stay to 60 days. You will need to apply again by making a new application.

We will not limit your permission to stay if you have less than six months left."

My question is HOW they limit permission? Do they send a notice? Anyone experienced that?

Thanks in advance

1. If thats the case then normally the company will inform the HO and then HO act on it according to the above as u said in u post and inform the migrant worker.

Thanks for reply.

Do they amend the visa dates on passport too?

What if, HO do not limit the leave for whatever reason. The original expiry date still stands?

This is a general policy of HO isnt it, they do the same for student visa as well dont they? e.g when course ends early.

1. Not in the case of a student, as students get extra 4 months plus the end date of the course due to graduation and results.

but what if his/her course ends early e.g. 6 months early than planned, so now he would have valid visa for 6 + 4 =10 months???!!!

or... HO limit it like they do for tier 2 migrants as mentioned above....

if thats the case,

Do they amend the visa dates on passport too?

What if, HO do not limit the leave for whatever reason. The original expiry date still stands?

thanks everyone and ash in particular

1. If the course ends earlier then i am sure that the institution might notify the HO and if they do not then its not a big issue.
2. If u applied the visa with the start and end dates given by the institution and u got the visa according to those dates and if the college finishes the course earlier than anticipated then its college problem and not yours.
3. I have never seen where the student leave was limited cuz of that.
