Hello,I am an australian citizen, that arrived in the uk on the 1st of feb,I was denied entry as a tourist, and was detained for interviews. The reason,I was refused entry is basically because,I am on an australian penion, and they believe, that I would be requring uk public funds.I explained to them, that I have my own money,as I get a regualr pension every 2 weeks.I had a return ticket booked and paid for, medical insurance.I told them that I was staying with my uk boyfriend, and would not be requring money for accomdation,or food.In the interview,I didnt have repesentation, wasnt allowed a phone call, and they didnt even allow me to take some blood pressure medication, that I needed to take. The immigration officer that was interviewing me,told me in the interview that,he was waiting for his wife to get a uk visa, and that he hadnt seen her for a yr.To me I believe he was against me and my boyfriend, because of our personal situation, and that because,I am australian,I dont need a visa to enter the uk.Once he told me,I would be deported that night,I began to go into a panic and a state of shock, because of my health prbs, they gave me until the 5th of feb.I currently have an MP fighting my case, and so far has managed to have my stay extended till the 23rd.This is only because,I require a doctor to fly home with me,and immigration are yet to find one.I feel that I have been treated very poorly, and didnt have any basic rights. My boyfriend and I went to london today,to see (IAS) which is immigration advice services. They were too busy and couldnt attend to our case.We are now sitting here,we dont knw what to do.Does anyone knw anything that we can possiblly do,to help our situation. We have thought about lawyers, but as we are both on pensions,we cant afford a lawyer. Please help any advice would be much appreiacted. My health is really suffering, and is getting worse, due to the stress of this situation.
