How to apply for citizenship without P60?

Post by rg1 » Mon Feb 15, 2010 1:46 pm

Hi

I currently have ILR and like to apply for citizenship.

But I lost 2 P60s (out of last 5 years).

But I do have bank statements for that period to show my earning.

Is it mandatory to show P60?

I got ILR via WP + HSMP (Tier 1) route.

Then applying after spending 1 year under ILR.

If you have a look at the last page of the application form AN. it is clear about what documentation to supply. there is no mention of P60s or bank statements

rg1, I agree with f2k, do read the form, and don't invent requirements that are not actually there.

Many people are surprised just how little supporting information is required when an application for Naturalisation is to be submitted.

I'm bit confused.

I had a look on AN form.

http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/siteco ... orm_an.pdf

Which mentions nothing about P60

But the section under "Evidence of exercising treaty rights for five years" here

http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/britis ... documents/

does mention P60.

Edit: Looks like P60 is required by EEA applications only. :P

Well, obviously, how else can an EEA national prove that they've spent the qualifying period in the UK, that is, if they're employed? The same section you quote mentions the other documents that might be submitted by those who've been exercising their treaty rights as students, retired persons, etc. Seems quite logical to me.

But only if that person has not got their PR confirmed, and of course, only if they have been employed during the 5-year qualifying period. But of course other ways to exercise EU Treaty Rights, without being employed.
