Tourist Visa to US

Post by afclegend81 » Mon Mar 01, 2010 11:21 am

Hi all,

My girlfriend who is from Brazil just had an interview for a tourist visa to the US, me, her and my parents plan to go on holiday for 2 weeks all is booked and paid for.
She has worked full time in the UK for 5 years, and has a perment residence visa for the UK, she holds a bank account, and i said all tickets were paid for so she had a return flight back from the US to the UK.

She filled in all forms correctly and took all relevent informaiton with her, from the moment she got there she was treated like a criminal and everyone was very rude to her, the interviewer did not not even look over her form or check anyother documents she took with her or ask any questions that were relievent for her application like her job, she just give here a 214(b) form and told her she was denied entry.

I'm in the process of complaining about her treatment which was not on at all and also how the interviewer did not interview at all!!! I'm going to be writing a letter to the US consolate in Edinburgh and London to request another interview but this time a special one to one , also i shall be speaking to my local MP about this.

Is this the correct route to go down, or does anyone know anyother route i should take.

thanks

Complaining will get you nowhere and your MP won't get involved in a US immigration policy matter. In general, it's a good idea not to book your holiday until you have a visa, if you need the visa in order to travel.
