What's wrong with your driving license?

If you committed motoring offences for which you received a fixed penalty and didn't go to court, this is unlikely to affect a citizenship application.

However, I recently saw a case on another forum of someone who was stopped for speeding and could only produce an International Driving Permit. As this could not be endorsed with penalty points she had to go to court and was convicted and fined for the speeding offence. Her citizenship application was refused because she has to wait for 5 years until it is a "spent conviction."

This is the most easy check they can do ....so you better declare anything for which you went to the court ......

i remember i had to hire a car and they did the license check within 2 mins for any points etc ....

does any1 know if a formal police caution(at a police station) given out of marital dispute(both me and my wife was cautioned) needs to be declared or has an ill-effect on ILR/naturilization? we didnt hav to go 2 the court or anything and no other issues. I also heard that there was a new rule which made all the cautions to be spent anyway.(the caution was early 2006)

many thanks

Check Section 3.3

I believe you do not have to declare cautions check on the guidance notes as well
