FLR

Post by sco_kop » Tue Mar 09, 2010 8:43 pm

Hi there. My mum has got a british passport by naturalisation.
My dad, sister, brother and i were given definite leave to remain for 3 years.
The 3 years are up and we have applied for an extension 28 days before the expiry.

Its been four weeks now and we havent heard nothing. Is there going to be a problem in getting an extension cause we need to do 5 years before applying for indefinite leave to remain.

3 years further leave to remain extension.
In what capacity ..... under what heading .... are you applying for the new visas? Please be explicit!

Also, can you explain why your wife is ahead of you in the overall process? Why has she already got British Citizenship, and you and your children have not?

My wife got her British passport through her dad because he got naturalized . Me and my kids were given further leave to remain in uk. That has expired and now we have applied for an extension on that visa cause we need to b here legally for five years before applying for indefinite leave

Third time of asking .... in what capacity ... under what heading .... are you applying for your visas?

You see, what I don't understand is, given your wife is British, and is therefore clearly a person who is "settled" in the UK, why haven't you applied for a spouse visa, and the children applied for Child Settlement visas? Those visas would be for just 2 years, and near the expiry of such visas you and the children could apply for ILR.

It might be best if you detail your UK immigration history.

We have applied for extension of further leave I think the forms are flr o. We are just applying for an extension on flr o

Sorry if I'm confusing u

I'm confused... Is the naturalized female in this discussion the OP's mum or wife? Or am I losing my marbles?!

A good question, especially as we also have :-
We came here on a visitor visa 8 years ago. my wife got naturalized a few years later
-: which is clearly what I picked up on when I posted, as quote by you.
