I would agree with Wanderer.
Since the rules are being changed and as from July 2011 the fact that your wife has a spousal visa would put her in a MUCH stronger position if she carries on the process to remain in this country.
The uncertainty of her DL would be removed

What is uncertainty of her DL Visa.She has already 3 years visa so you are talking pointless

No one said DL rules are about to change, but the ILR rules will by the time the OP's spouse has served the six years on DL....

Better go to Spec-saver...

The simple rule is she has to stay in th UK for 3 years as partner with the British Citizen. She had the visa for 6 years to stay in the UK. You need to prove that she has stayed with you for 3 years that is all. You need not even be married but if she has stayed with you for 3 years then she can be naturulised.

Ok I put this in an simple equation.

DL(current 3 years visa)+DL(extension for another 3 years)=ILR(Total six years on DL)
