NATURALISATION CLOCK- when does it start to tick ?

I want someone with a better knowledge on Naturalisation after permanent Residence ( EEA4) to tell me when the Clock to British Citizenship starts to tick. Does it start to tick from the date of issue of Residence Card (EEA2) or does it start on the date of Marriage. I get confused about some stuff I read from this forum sometimes. Like this below

The start of the naturalisation qualifying period is calculated backwards, from when they receive your application.

I need more clarifications, let’s take a scenario; I got married in the UK. 5 Jan 2004 to an EEA citizen living in the UK. We both applied for my RC (EEA1 & EEA2) and were issued with RC dated 20June 2004 with Expiry date of 21 June 2009. Applied for PR in June 2009 and was issued a PR dated 20 February 2010. When is the right time to apply for naturalisation?

Going by marriage it should be from 6 January (5yrs +1yr).
Going by issue date of my RC card it should be from 21 June 2010(5yrs + 1yr)
Could you tell me which is right?
