British Overseas Passport Holder query...

Post by gollywood » Sun Mar 21, 2010 10:24 pm

I have an aunt who is visiting the UK. She holds a British Overseas Passport.

We are going to France for the weekend next month - would she be able to come along with us?

Does she have to get a French visa?

Thanks - are they only based in London (I guess?)

Also, would her son (who is also visiting on a Pakistani visa) be able to get one of these Schengen visa's)?

How long is the process? Straightforward or as big a nightmare as getting a visitor visa to come to the UK!!!!!

I think u have to apply for ur country of residence, not 100% sure tho fr Schengen.

Son will need one too.

It is quite onerous, assuming applying from UK - requires itinery, travel, hotels, insurance etc, and visa are not granted same day. Plus if in London you have to book an appointment via an 0906 number, £1.00 a minute.....
