Schengen Visa - Renting a car to go from france to spain

Post by sara_it » Mon Mar 22, 2010 10:33 am

Hi,

I have booked a ticket to go to France. From there I'm planning to rent a car (or in case its too expensive, take other means of transport) to go to spain and stay there for a night and come back to england from Barcelona.

I am just wondering if its important to book the car in advance and send proof of booking with my application of can I just attach a letter with the application and explain that I will rent a car while i'm there.

Thanks

Where are you applying? Mostly you have to apply in person except from France for example but only if you live outside the French concept of 'London'.

Otherwise I think I'll u'll need is the ferry/Eurostar tickets and hotel bookings, for all they know you could have your own car or be going by bike!

Also depends on whether you are the spouse of an EU citizen or not.

I doubt you will need evidence of the car rental agreement, though when I applied for my wife at the Belgium VFS, they tried to tell me that if I couldn't book a train from Belgium to France online, then we HAD to fly! (They were wrong, OP!)
