pending asylum case

Post by so.blessed » Wed Mar 31, 2010 2:23 am

hi guys...
was just wondering, my asylum case has been pending for over six years now and last year i received a letter from HO saying my case was part of the legacy cases and was being dealt with by the CRLT. In January 2010 I then received another letter asking me to send photos which I did but up to now have not heard from them... does anyone know of a similar situation and what this means..... cheers

Well, the thing with asylum cases are that they are soo different and no case has a "tick-box" system. The system is very bad, and unfortunately it results in cases like your waiting for 6 years just to get dealt with.

It does however look like your case is moving forward, asking for documents and such are usually a good sign in any cases because it means that they are actually considering your case, if there was a clear reason not to grant you asylum, then they would have done it by now. So all in all, a good sign!

I think it would be advisable if you could contact your MP.
