Post by anjum70 » Wed Mar 31, 2010 4:26 pm

Hi,

I am on student visa and my wife is on tier 2 work permit. Now, my question is

1. I want to apply for tier 2 Dependent visa from current student visa, Will I have to go to India for applying dependent visa (as I have been student here for last 4 years now) or whether I can submitt my application from UK itself

2. How much minimum maintance funds my wife has to show and for how much duration , Also do I also need to show some funds

Please Advise,

Manys thanks in advance

Regards,

Anjum

You will need to return to home country to apply for EC as Tier 2 dependent, unless there is a special provision for people on student LTE/LTR allowing them to switch to dependent category. Check with UKBA directly.

Read Points-based system dependants - policy guidance.
