Green Card referred to DETE

Post by VPR » Thu Apr 01, 2010 2:38 pm

Hi All,
Hello everyone,

Has anyone's Green Card been referred to DETE after the GC expired after 2 yrs? My GC expired yesterday March 31, but I will not be completing 21 months of residence in Ireland since I started employment in Ireland 4 months after receiving my GC(received green card in April 1st 2008 and expired march 31st 2010). As per the existing rules, to get a temp Stamp 4 at least 21 months of residence is required. My case will be forwarded to DETE that decides on a case by case basis whether to issue a Stamp 4 or ask to reapply for GC?
Has anyone had a similar experience?
I am still working with my employer.
And how soon can I go to the Garda office as my GC expired yesterday?

I found the same information in this website

I would try to go to INIS office now to renew the registration card. You have to keep your registration up-to-date whatever your circumstances. Bring as much documentation as you have, including recent payslips, P60 to show that you are still working, plus any correspondence with DETE. INIS have to register you, but what kind of stamp you will get is unclear to me.
