documents returned help pls

Post by sco_kop » Tue Apr 06, 2010 5:55 pm

Hello everyone
We came here as overstayers 8 yrs ago. My wife got naturalised as a BC through her parents and my kids and i were given DL for 3 yrs.
Before it expired we re-applied for extension of DL on hpdl forms as home office advised us to do so.
Today a caseworker said that we used the wrong forms and are saying we have to use flr (0).

Since a case worker has handled our case when we re-apply should the process be quicker as a case worker has been assigned to our case.

Also our visas of dl have expired. But we applied before they expired on the wrong forms because of the Home offices advice.
We are all working and studying and i hope this doesnt mean we are illegal.
Should there be problems

Sorry for the long message

Advice greatly appreciated

Can't say whether the process will be 'any quicker'! Depends on the caseworker.
But I can say, that as long as your application is yet to be decided by UKBA, then you are not deemed to be 'illegal'!
DL applications normally take a long time. :(

Thanky You for the reply.
We re-applied on FLR (O) and sent out the forms today.
We also wrote a cover letter explaining that the home office advised us to use hpdl the first time and other points.
