I recieve income support, DLA (lower rate mobility, middle rate care), housing benefit, and severe disability premium. Thus more than double the basic rate of income support. I am aware that the care component of DLA is not treated as a public benefit, though this alone does not equal the basic rate of income support.

Can I legally fulfill the criteria sponsor the visa for my fiance?

We are aware of the case of MK (Somalia), but do not know where that case currently is with regards to the acceptance of these individuals visa application

You will need to show that you will not need to claim additional benefits if your fiancee joins you. The benefits you currently have entitlement to are considered to be for your support alone.

How do I prove that we will not need to claim additional benefits?

Is it just a case of producing bank statements and detailing expenditure that is considered non-essential?

How do I prove that we can both live on my benefits?

Well normally you can't - that's the catch 22. Your benefits are geared to support you and you alone. However it's been done so don't despair. Do a spreadsheet, showing projected ins and outs, and factor in your wife working when she gets a spouse visa, and savings to tide you over.

As Wanderer has said its been done.
My wife was given a spousal visa and I was claiming DLA, Income Support and Housing Benefit.
Also despite both of us not working since she arrived she was granted ILR.
Just follow what Wanderer has said to do and hopefuly you will be OK
