Family friend caught working when on a holiday VISA in UK

Post by isotonic_uk » Tue Apr 20, 2010 8:30 pm

Hi

Was wondering if someone could advise me so I can pass some information on to a friends who's uncle has been caught working whilst on a 6 month holiday VISA.

Obviously they know what they have done was wrong and deeply regret it now.

I said I would find out what is likely to happen next.

When UK Border control found the workplace where my friends uncle was they detained him till the evening and have given him a letter which states that he needs to go back to the border control centre and they have deemed him to be a person who has a valid visa but done wrong by working on a holiday visa which he was not allowed to do.

Could anyone advise what is likely the process now, will he be deported now? will any sanctions be brought on the person who sponsered him and supported him in his time here?

Any advice would be most appreciated.

I would think there'd be very little if any chance of a UK visa again.

I believe the fine is for the employer.

What nationality is he?
Where is his passport?
