Applying for British citizenship

Post by sarahjane » Wed Apr 28, 2010 8:56 pm

I was granted limited leave to remain on Humanitarian Grounds (3 years from Feb 2010).Prior to this, I was on a dependants visa which expired. Before the expiry of the Visa I saw a solicitor who agreed to act on my behalf. She however made the application a month too late which led to me being in breach on immigration rules ie I became an overstayer.

My seven year old son is a British citizen, and three weeks ago I married an Englishman.

What are the chances of me successfully applying for british Citizenship? Is another option for me to apply as a spouse of a British Citizen?

And that's 6 years if you're on DLR, especially as you were in breach prior to the grant. Unless you return to your country of origin and switch to a spouse visa which reduces the time considerably.
