Child born in UK to naturalised parent

Post by jimbo_uk » Thu Apr 29, 2010 8:45 am

Hello,

Sorry if this is a silly question - would really appreciate it if someone could advise on the following:

My wife is a 'UK citizen by descent'
I am a 'UK citizen by naturalisation'

i.e. neither of us were born in the UK. We are married.

My wife is due to give birth to our first child in 2 weeks (in the UK - we live here).

Do we need to apply or register an MN1 (or any other form) to confirm the child is a UK citizen or will it just be automatic?

thanks for any advise,

JB
