Can exam assistance be part of my earnings

Hi guys

My employer paid me an one-off amount for my qualification expense. It's something extra to my ordinary salary and is shown on my payslip as exam assistance. I know many employers pay qualifcation expense for their employees by reimbursing college fee and exam fee etc. But mine is taxed along with the normal salary of that month. Can I claim this is part of my earnings?
