SPANISH and EGYPTIAN WANTING TO WORK IN GIBRALTAR

Post by Sorayazul » Thu Apr 29, 2010 4:13 pm

HI to All :) ,

I am a spanish woman. Me and my fiance, who is Egyptian, are planning to get married soon possibly in Gibraltar. We would also like to work there. We might consider the possibility of living in Spain and working in Gibraltar.
I know that as a Spanish national, I have it easier than him to probably get a job in Gibraltar.
COuld someone please advise us on what my fiance would need in order to be able to work in Gibraltar? ANybody know any other case about a Middle Eastern working in Gibraltar? WHat would be the process?? THis is urgent and your kind help (accurate if possible) will be much appreciated. REgards,
Sorayazul.

Once married, if you live and work in Gibraltar your husband will be able to work there.

If you live in Spain however, your husband will not be able to work in Gibraltar without a work permit.
I am no longer posting publicly on this website - PM me if needed.

HI Ben,

THanks a lot for this info. So if we would live in Spain, he would then need a work permit in Gibraltar, meaning this that he would need first to get a job and then the company would take care of organizing the work permit right?.... which seems to be a bit of a pain, bearing in mind that he is Egyptian, and even though he works in Banking, In Gibraltar they would still take locals or europeans as a priority..!

So maybe is better to live in Gibraltar...we were only trying to avoid the high cost of living in Gibraltar (as many others of course! :D ). DO you have any idea of how much a One bed could cost in Gibraltar approximately? Since obviously in La LINEA (Cadiz) is very cheap!!
Thanks a lot for your help!
