Disclosure from IND on a subject data request.

Hi guys,

just had my disclosure request back from the IND to cover a period of 8 and a half years. Quite an immpresive document very neatly binded and sectioned with over 100 pages and covering 8 sections! well worth the 10 pounds I paid for it! what i wanted to enquire upon is the section covering the landing cards, it only includes the landing cards on wich i was issued leave to remain in the airport on the spot back in 1997 and 1998, do they then not keep the landing cards given to them on regular trips you would cover during your stay? cuz i must have travelled dozens of times from the uk during my residency over the last 8 and a half years and filled out a landing card on every arrival! surely they cant withold any information under the data protection act therefore i can only presume that they do not keep all the landing cards filled by the millions of passengers travelling to the uk every year.....?! any thoughts? thanx.

Remember that these subject data access requests are slightly hit and miss; sometimes things get missed out by oversight, or because the computer wasn't working properly that day, etc. Also, a lot of human input and consequently potential for human error goes into the disclosure - they searched various permutations of my name and surname, and a lot of the cards had been filed under misspellings of my name, despite the name being correctly filled in on the card. I recall there were some electronic printouts detailing entries and exits as well, so perhaps they've kept the info in a different format.
