UK Tier 2 --URGENT

Post by marshalls » Wed May 19, 2010 11:26 am

Hi Everyone,

I am getting job in a Biotech research firm in UK.

The company said that they would sponsor me and hence I would like to know if:

1).UK work permit and UK work visa are two different things or same?

2). If they are different, what is supposed to be applied for firstly?

3). I read that for UK Tier 2,applicant must have 800 pounds and this amount must reflect in bank account from 3 months before making application.
But I used to save my money personally and I would be depositing it 15 days before my application.
Would it be a problem?

Kindly try to help me with above questions.

Thanks,

Adi.

Different.
What you refer to as work permit is a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS), applied for by the employer for you. What you refer to as work visa is the leave to enter (visa) you will apply for at the local BHC on the basis of CoS.

CoS.

Yes. Read the Tier 2 policy guidance.

For more information on Tier 2, see Tier 2 (General)

Hello,

I thank you for the concrete information. I read the Tier 2 Policy Guidance you suggested and it said that either applicant must have 800(GBP) maintained for 3 months from date of application "OR" the A-rated sponsor must certify the maintainance.

I confirmed that my sponsor is A-Rates and is ready to certify my sponsorship.

1). So in this case, do I still need to provide 800(GBP) record?
I know the question is silly, but still if you can comment?

2). If the answer for my above question is "NO" (which I think it is) and still if I displayed around GBP 500 in my account (1-2 weeks before my application) , would it encourage or add some positive weightage to my application?

Awaiting your reply.

Regards,

Adi.

OK, So if I am getting CoS from my sponsor company (stating/certifying that they would support/sponsor me), would this be enough to get visa?

Yes, if that's what the guidance states.
