British citizenship for my child born in UK

Hi there,
I am currently on work permit status since May 2007 and am expecting a child in Dec 2010. Will my child be able to get British citizenship at birth or will have to wait till i get ILR in 2012?

You may register your born-in-UK child as British only after being granted settled status in the UK (ILR).
