Returning to the UK

Post by OliviaD » Sat May 22, 2010 7:34 am

I have a question regarding a friend.

She was deported a couple of years ago having lived in the country for over 10 years, and did not quite qualify for a post-study worker(?) visa due to not meeting just ONE requirement which she was unaware of at the time.

Needless to say it was not nice for her since the UK was her home. She is working full time in hong kong now but I would like to help her in getting back here by knowing more about it.

How would she go about returning to the UK? I'm not familiar with the system. :/

Thank you for help in advance.

No nothing like that. She just had to leave the UK before a certain date, which she did.

Should be ok then, but needs to mention it on the form - it does ask. What category is she thinking of aplying in?

We haven't discussed it that much so I'm not sure of specifics. I'm just looking for information on what's available or required to make this happen, because I know very little about it all.

Maybe she'd need to come back as a student or something? I just don't know.

Bear in mind the fianacial requirements for student visa are quite high now, it's fair to say five figures need to be shown up front and held for three months prior to app.
