Stamp 4 v 4EUFAM

Post by Stainless » Fri May 21, 2010 7:46 pm

Hi All,

I completed two years on a Green Card permit. Based on the renewal I am entitled to a one year residency. However, my renewal GNIB card states stamp type is 4EUFAM! I was expecting it to say stamp 4 with expiration date of one year. Instead it has 4EUFAM and is valid fr one year.

Is this correct or has an error been made on my GNIB card? I have no family in Ireland or spouse, I have a partner who I live with but I do not believe this has anything to do with it.

I must also point out that I have been working much longer than the two years on the Green Card Permit in Ireland under other permits.

I would appreciate it if anyone has been in a similar situation that can assist. The INIS website does not display the info I am looking for.

Much appreciated

Stainless

Absolute classic. Good one, GNIB.

It's a mistake Stainless. You've been issued with a "Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen".

May I ask, are you a visa-required national?

Hi Ben,

It appears to be a mistake now that I have done further research into it! I do not require a visa for Ireland to remain.

Do you know if the INIS office in Dublin is open on Saturday mornings as really want to get this sorted out as soon as possible!

Thanks for your reply.

LMAO   Long live INIS. This give a whole new meaning to the phrase "work to rule".

What about for entry to Ireland? Or are you a citizen of a country which Ireland allows visa-free entry?

It's the GNIB who made the mistake, not the INIS. They do not open on Saturday.
