Please advise

Post by paulgianni » Fri May 21, 2010 9:32 pm

I sent my application in the beginning of April and it was returned a couple of weeks later due to the lack of an updated police certificate + incorrect fees (I paid for the old amount).

Fixed that and send it again on the same day. After 21 days I got it back again - invalid due to the incorrect form. I got the form from HO website, which has several incorrect/mixed information regarding the old and new procedures. Also, it was the same form used for the first time around and not mentioned by HO before.

Fixed that, but with this to and fro my statements are now over 30 days old. I can't get new ones, because the money saved for that purpose was used to re-apply for the second time, since when they return applications they do not send you back the Postal Orders along - you have to wait over a week to get it back, and the statement would be below the required 800 pounds.

I sent employment contracts for both my dependant and me + withdraw slips from money we receive from a family business back home.

Do I stand a chance even with old statements? will they consider they are only old because of the delays in processing?

Can I appeal if it is refused? What would you guys advise in this case?

Old statements will not work. And you cannot blame UKBA for it because in both instances you made the mistake ... not UKBA!

What is your current immigration status? Do you have valid leave to enter/remain or has it expired?

The Home Office will not consider your old bank statement, any ATM withdraw slips or statements and I am not to sure but I think they won't consider your employment contract also.
Good luck

Thanks for your replies. I'm still waiting.

A couple of weeks ago they requested more statements, but so far no definite reply.

I'm not hopeful anymore, but would like to get a reply soon.

Hi

You are in difficult situation. I Think if you go to bank they will issue a small certificate with few lines saying that your balance during last three months was ....... on bank letter head with sign n stamp. They might charge (Max 10 pound usually) but you have to request them and explain them your situation. I am sure if you get it quick and sent it quick there may be some chance...

Wish you Good Luck...
