Complicated case: Sponsored student (Student Visa to Tier 1

Post by rohitktm » Sat May 22, 2010 9:21 pm

Dear friends,
This is bit complicated case involving the immigration rules of PSW and tier 1 dependent. My wife has been studying in the UK under the sponsorship of a non-British international organization and she is finishing her studies soon. She is not eligible to apply for Tier 1 – PSW visa as being a sponsored student she has to be out of UK for at least 12 months to apply for PSW visa unless she provides written consent from her sponsor. In this case, instead of PSW visa, she is planning to apply for Tier 1 dependent visa as I have Tier 1 general visa. Will there be any problem when applying for Tier 1 dependent visa in this case or the visa officer will still ask for the sponsor’s letter of consent?
I am sincerely looking for your kind advise on this.

AFAIK, no problem in applying for dependent visa (from home country).

Maybe! Search the UKBA site or call up UKBA if you want to hear it from them.
