How long can I be out of Ireland after PR Card obtained

Post by ace94 » Thu Jun 03, 2010 5:19 pm

Hi

Can anyone explain me how long a person can be out of Ireland after obtaining the PR Card? Is any rule to be in Ireland every year for a certain period within the first 5 years? Is it possible to go out Ireland like one month a year? Pl advise.

Thanks

Hi ace94,
Directive 2004/38/EC, § 16(4) wrote:Once acquired, the right of permanent residence shall be lost only through absence from the host Member State for a period exceeding two consecutive years.
